W.G. ‘Bill’ Henson, 79, of Columbia, died Sunday, December 29, 2024 at TJ Health Columbia Emergency Room. He was born September 15, 1945 in Adair County to the late Gaylord and Elna Cundiff Henson.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, David Lynn Henson.
Bill was a member of Trinity Church and operated Henson Farms and Henson and Sapp Paving.
Survivors include his wife, Claudia Burton Henson of Columbia; one son, Darren Henson (Erica) of Columbia; two daughters, Tina Cooley (Paul) of Lancaster and Jessica Critz (Andy) of Somerset; two step-children, Michael Withers (Michelle) and Shannon Shepherd (Mark) all of Russell Springs; one sister, Betty Helen Sapp of Columbia; one nephew, Zachary Sapp (Sherry) of Russell Springs; seven grandchildren, Samantha, Amber, J.D., Clara, Carson, Kadence and Charlotte; two step-grandchildren, Zach and Ally; four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Pescosolido officiating and burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a donation to Trinity Church, which can be left at the funeral home.
Grissom-Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
