Former firefighter David Taylor pleaded guilty Wednesday morning to five felony counts of theft by unlawful taking and placed his future in the hands of a jury.
Taylor, 45, was indicted last year and accused of stealing at least $95,000 over the span of five years while serving as treasurer to the Adair County Fire Department.
Taylor and his attorney, Joel Smith of Jamestown, stood before Circuit Judge Judy Vance Wednesday and entered the multiple guilty pleas.
According to the agreement approved by Commonwealth’s Attorney Gail Williams, a jury will be empaneled to impose a penalty.
