Troy Allen Kessinger, 61, of Columbia, died Monday, April 17, 2017 at the University of Louisville Hospital.

He was born on Nov. 1, 1955 in Shawnee, Okla. and was the son of the late Vestal and Bertha Hughes Kessinger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie and Dan Kessinger, and a sister, Vesta Kessinger.

Troy was a member of Flatwoods Separate Baptist Church and a farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Harmon Kessinger of Columbia; nine sons, Robert and Troy Vincent Kessinger both of Alabama, Zachary and James Kessinger both of Shawnee, Okla., James Harmon, Larry Benge and Raymond Bowers and Richard Fuller all of North Carolina and Ryan Fuller of Columbia; two daughters, Angela Lacey of Columbia and Regina Fuller of Jamestown; one brother, Jimmy Kessinger of Shawnee, Okla.; four sisters, Louise Tucker, Linda Lee and Mary Katherine Cologne all of Shawnee, Okla. and Leona Cleary of Missouri.

Twenty-five grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral service is today at 2 p.m. at Flatwoods Separate Baptist Church with Bro. B.J. Huff and Bro. Brian Roberts officiating with burial in Kessinger Family Cemetery.

Visitation is today after 10 a.m. at Flatwoods Separate Baptist Church.

Casket bearers are Wendy Cosby, Jordan Ford, Jonathan Ford, Jacob Bryant, Joseph Fuller, Nathan Fuller, Joshua Cosby and Zach Vaught.

Honorary casket bearers are Vernon Harmon, Terry Cosby, Gary Foster and Shawn Sommer.
