Two Adair County men were arrested this week and charged with the possession of illegal drugs.
On Tuesday, Columbia Police were dispatched to an apartment complex location on Greensburg Street after a 911 caller advised that a man was standing near a dumpster yelling obscenities toward tenants in the complex. CPD responded to the scene and located 19-year-old Chris Dickson who climbed a tree in an attempt to hide from officers. CPD arrested Dickson and he was lodged in the Adair County regional jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine 1st degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, public intoxication of controlled substance excluding alcohol, and criminal trespassing 3rd degree.

Wednesday, CPD responded to a theft in progress at a local retail chain located on Hudson Street. 26-year-old Josh Ford was arrested and charged with public intoxication of controlled substance excluding alcohol, possession of marijuana, and theft by unlawful taking under $500. Ford was lodged in the Adair County regional jail by officer Charles Greer and officer Josh Brockman.
