On Tuesday afternoon July 8, officers initiated a traffic stop on Greensburg Street and Jones Street. As the officer approached the vehicle, he observed driver attempting to conceal a clear plastic baggie with a white substance inside. Party was immediately taken into custody out of the vehicle.
After K-9 unit was utilized and further search conducted, officers also located marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
David Rooksberry, 39, of Campbellsville was charged with a total of six traffic violations as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. Rooksberry was additionally charged with tampering with evidence and possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine, both felonies.
Passenger in the vehicle Lucas Brinkman, 38, was also taken into custody with two active warrants including probation violation.
Officer Evan Burton was the arresting officer. He was assisted on scene by Deputy Josh Durbin as well as officers Kevin Atwood and Adam Cravens.
Overall, this is the Columbia Police Department’s fourth methamphetamine-related arrest in eleven days.
