Two Adair County residents were arrested after a call was answered on reported barn lumber theft.
Chief Deputy Sheriff Aaron Rainwater responded to Melson Ridge Road at 6:30 a.m. Friday on a complaint of individuals stealing barn lumber.
Upon arrival Patrick Loy, 28, of Columbia and Crystal Bennett, 28, also of Columbia, were arrested on charges of criminal trespassing 3rd degree, criminal mischief 2nd degree, theft by unlawful taking (barn lumber) and trafficking methamphetamine more than 2 grams.
Loy and Bennett were lodged in the Adair County Jail on $10,000 bonds. More charges are pending in this case. Deputy Rainwater was assisted on scene by Constable Joe Collins.
