Adair County 911 dispatched the Adair County Sheriff’s Office to a two vehicle collision two miles north of Columbia on Hwy. 55 at 4:06 p.m. on Sunday, June 28.

The accident occurred when Hailey White, 20, of Russell Springs was traveling south on Hwy. 55 when her 2007 Ford Fusion hydroplaned.

The vehicle then entered the northbound lane of travel and was struck by Rayma Strunk, 56, who was traveling north in her 2020 Kia Sorento.

Neither White nor Strunk were injured, however the passengers in Strunk’s vehicle, Rae Hughes, 28, Callie Grigsby, 9, and Houston Caldwell,17, were treated on scene by Adair County EMS and transported to T.J. Health Columbia for additional treatment.

The collision was investigated by K-9 Deputy Josh Durbin, who was assisted by Deputy Joey Keith.
