Vena Raines, 79, of Columbia died peacefully at her home on Dec. 20, 2016.
She was born on Jan. 1, 1937 in Wayne County and was the daughter of the late William Ova and Lona Dishman Lowe.
She is survived by her husband, Glen Raines of Columbia; one son, Richard (Debbie) Raines of Columbia; one daughter, Naomi (Steve) Sinclair of Alvaton; one brother, Junior Lowe of Monticello; one sister, Ruth Dishman of Monticello; and four grandchildren, Brittany (Cory) Raines-Goode, Bryon (Katlyn) Raines, Lauren (Will) Brown and Sarah Sinclair. She is also survived by several other relatives and friends.
She was a member of Freedom Separate Baptist Church, a homemaker and retired dairy farmer.
Funeral service was Friday, Dec. 23 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Richie Curtis and Bro. Darrin Blair officiating and graveside service at Pyles Cemetery in Way County with burial to follow.
Pallbearers were Will Brown, Cory Goode, Joe Carter, Steven Corbin, Michael Burton and James Green.
Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
