Thursday night’s game was a big win for the Adair County Middle School football team with a defeat against Casey County.
“We had an hour and fifteen minutes delay to start and that seemed to cause us to start a little slow on our first drive. After that we pretty much dominated the first half,” Coach Wes Stephens said
Wingback Josh Baker scored five touchdowns for the Indians. Conversions from Daniel Held, Parker Jessie, and Fischer Brown gave the team a 36-0 halftime lead.
The strong lead gave the Indians the advantage of a running clock for the remainder of the game. The tribe gave up one touchdown to beat Casey County 36-6.
“Our offensive and defensive line did a great job setting the tone and controlled the line of scrimmage all night,” said Stephens. “It was a great way to start our conference schedule. The goal is to go 1-0 every week and we accomplished the mission this week” he said.
The team has a record or 2-1 overall with 1-0 in CKMSAC play.
