Adair County 911 dispatched Knifley Volunteer Fire Department to a residential fire at 16 Dry Creek Road in the Roley Yuma community of Adair County. Deputy Josh Durbin was aware of prior altercations at this address and responded with the fire department.
A neighbor had alerted the landowner of the fire, and they were able to contain it until the fire department arrived. A preliminary investigation determined that arson was a factor in the cause of the fire.
The Adair County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in obtaining more information on this fire.
“We are looking for anyone that has any type of home surveillance systems or cameras in the area to check them. We are specifically interested in any surveillance of the intersection of Knifley Road and Dry Creek Road and any roads that branch off of Dry Creek Road,” said Sheriff Gary Roy.
“While we would still like any and all information we can get, we are hoping someone may have clear footage of a vehicle of interest on camera around the time of the suspected arson,” he said. “The specific time frame we are looking into is the early morning hours of March 15th from 12:20am to 12:50am central time.”
This incident is being investigated by Durbin and Kentucky Deputy Fire Marshal Nathan Looney.
