GLASGOW — The stage is set for a night of music, fun, and friendly rivalry as the Hometown Showdown Lip Sync Battle takes over Glasgow’s Historic Plaza Theatre on Saturday.
Among the evening’s most anticipated contests is the schoolyard showdown between Adair County Schools and Metcalfe County Schools, promising high-energy performances and hometown pride. The matchup joins three other head-to-head lip sync battles: Western Kentucky University in Glasgow versus Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College; Commonwealth Broadcasting versus the Far Off Broadway Players; and Team T.J. Pavilion against Team T.J. Samson.
The event will be co-hosted by Kellie McKay of Commonwealth Broadcasting and Randy Burns, executive director of the T.J. Community Mission Foundation. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the first lip sync battle begins at 6 p.m. Audience members will play a crucial role, as live voting will decide both the winner of each contest and the overall grand champion.
Funds raised during the event will benefit the T.J. Community Mission Foundation, which supports expanded healthcare access and improved well-being for people across south central Kentucky. The community’s generosity has fueled the event’s success in previous years, raising $45,170 in 2023 and $53,000 in 2024.
Tickets are still available for $40 online at hometownshowdown.com.
