Laughter, music and magic filled the air as approximately 200 children gathered for the City of Columbia’s fourth annual Back to School Bash.
The event gave local children an opportunity to enjoy sone entertainment while preparing for the upcoming school year. Students received school supplies, drinks and snacks and registered for numerous giveaways throughout the event.
Children lined up to have their faces painted by Alexis Jennings before enjoying live music from Jake Hill and Mark Harris of the local Green River Band.
The excitement continued when Columbia’s own Master Magician Lance Burton took the stage. Burton quickly captured the audience’s attention with his magic performance.
Burton introduced new magician Jimmy McKnight of Shelbyville to the crowd.
McKnight performed several magical illusions as children and families watched, adding to the excitement and keeping the audience engaged.
The annual Back to School Bash combines school readiness with family-friendly entertainment, giving local children a chance to gather with friends, enjoy community activities and receive supplies for the new school year.
As the event concluded, children left with backpacks and school supplies, and memories filled with music, laughter and magic. The continued growth of the annual event reflects the support of local businesses and citizens who donate and participate to make this event possible, which is organized by the City of Columbia.
