Bro. Kerry Yates, 77, of Columbia passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025 at his residence. He was born on April 3, 1948 in Adair County to the late Bro. James Woodruff “Jim” and Ruby Lonie Bradshaw Yates.
Bro. Yates was the pastor for over 48 years at House Up on a Rock Tabernacle Church, worked at IMO Industries for 30 years, construction for 15 years and as well as enjoyed preaching the gospel and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife 58 Years Patricia Yates of Columbia; two children Dennis Yates (Meggin) and Felicia VanArsdale (Todd) both of Columbia; four grandchildren Erin Brockman (Dustin), Cody Yates (Rylee Beard), Schyler VanArsdale (Caitlyn), and Quinton VanArsdale; one step grandchild Molly Hadley; and one great granddaughter Georgia Rose Yates.
Funeral service will be 2pm Thursday July 3, 2025 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10am Thursday.
Bro. Larry Brown and Bro. James Clayton officiating and pallbearers will be Dr. Van Giles, Schyler VanArsdale, Quinton VanArsdale, Louis VanArsdale, Hack Williamson, and Mark Bradshaw.
