The Step Out and Rise (SOAR) Program hosted by the Adair County Cooperative Extension is a nine-month leadership development initiative that began in July 2025. Thirteen people from Adair County are participating in the nine-month program. A community service project is one of the requirements to complete the program.
The SOAR Leadership program chose to do a friendly “Canned Food Battle” between two local banks. Donations can be dropped off at Bank of Columbia Main Office on the square or at First & Farmers National Bank Main Office on Will Walker Road.
Collection dates are Friday, March 20 through Friday, April 3.
All collected items will be donated to J.O.Y. Ministries to help support families in need in Adair County.
This is a competition for a great cause. Help your favorite bank win and help fill the shelves at JOY Ministries!
“A component of the Leadership program is a community service project. We are proud to have both of these banks represented in our group among many other businesses and organizations,” said Tony Rose. “Thank you for supporting our SOAR participants as they work to make a positive impact.”
