Carolyn Sue Giles, 83, of Knifley the daughter of the late William Buford Sherrill and Eula Dixon Sherrill, was born in Adair County on October 4, 1941 and departed this life on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at the University of Louisville Hospital.
Carolyn professed faith in Christ and attended Elk Horn Baptist Church. She was employed by Fruit of The Loom in Campbellsville at the time of its closing and was a homemaker and a farmer. She enjoyed riding horses, four-wheelers, gardening, and goats.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Hershey Giles, who preceded her in death in 2009; and two brothers, William Benny Sherrill and Buford Kenny Sherrill.
Survivors include one daughter, Teresa Scott of Campbellsville; one son, William Edgar Giles of Knifley; one brother, Cebert Sherrill and wife Mary Alice of Louisville; one sister, Wanda Spires and husband Donnie of Campbellsville; one grandchild, Nicole Britton (Tyler); and great-grandchildren, Tylee Britton and Cole Britton.
Following her wishes, cremation was chosen and burial will be at a later date in the Caldwell Chapel Cemetery.
