Cebert Ewing Sherrill, affectionately known as “CB," 73, was born November 25, 1951 and departed this life on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY. He lived in Louisville and was formerly from Knifley.

CB served his country honorably in the Army for 2 years and the National Guard for 29 plus years. He was a retired employee of GE after 39 years of service and served as a Union Steward. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Victory Baptist Church where he sang in the choir with Mary Alice. CB enjoyed spending time with his two grandchildren, family and friends and he loved being on his farm, camping, boating, and spending the winter in Florida with his wife Mary Alice.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Eula Dixon Sherrill; two brothers, Kenny Sherrill and Bennie Sherrill; and one sister, Carolyn Sue Giles.

Survivors include Mr. Sherrill’s wife of 44 years, Mary Alice Richerson Sherrill; one son, Christopher Ewing Sherrill; two grandchildren, Avery Sherrill and Sebastian Sherrill; one sister, Wanda Spires (Donnie); two special nieces, Marina Sherrill Gabehart and Teresa Giles Scott; two special nephews, William Giles and Tony Spires; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Per his request, he was cremated.

There will be no funeral, but there will be a graveside service for immediate family only which will be announced at a later date.

L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville is in charge of arrangements.
