Charles Giles, 90, of Columbia died Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville.

He was born July 21, 1935 in Adair County.  He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Van Giles and his mother, Thelma Irene Dixon Hopkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nadine Rich Giles on November 4, 2014.

Charles was a member of Trinity Church, a U.S. Army Veteran and a well-respected successful businessman in Adair County, owning G&G Motors, a farm implement dealership for 44 years.

Survivors include his wife, Gayle Garrison of Columbia; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Chuck and Melissa Giles of Columbia; four grandchildren, Chaz Giles (Samantha), Dr. Van Giles (Karli), Baylor Giles and Clay Giles; four great-grandchildren, Josie Nae Giles, Charlie Freeborn Giles, Kip Stephen Giles and Guy Ellis Giles; a brother, Dee Giles of Florida; two sisters, Frances Reynolds of Columbia and Judy Jones of Brownstown, Indiana; Gayle’s children, Amy Mitchum (Mike) and James Garrison (Paula); her grandchildren, Michael Mitchum (Tiffany), Mary Burton (Levi), Kayla Jones (Trent), Clint Garrison (Savannah); her nine great-grandchildren; her three great-great grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Church with Bro. Steve Pescosolido officiating and burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Friday after 4 p.m. and on Saturday from 6 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to Trinity Church which can be left at the funeral home or the church.
