The Adair County Community Voice is proud to announce the inaugural class of 8 Over 80, a new recognition honoring eight Adair County residents age 80 and older whose lives have been marked by leadership, volunteerism and meaningful contributions to Adair County, the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the United States.
The inaugural honorees are Vitas Bailey, Charles Cole, Irene Harmon, Lonny Karnes, Yvonne Marshall, Darrell Overstreet, Stanley Rich and Ruby Smith.
The 8 Over 80 recognition celebrates individuals whose influence reaches far beyond their own accomplishments.
Through civic involvement, military service, education, ministry, agriculture, business and countless other avenues, these men and women have made lasting contributions to their communities and the lives of those around them.
Each honoree will be featured in an upcoming special keepsake edition of the Voice, sharing their stories and highlighting the impact they have made throughout their lives.
The special edition, meal, and awards are also made possible through the support of local businesses, organizations and individuals who want to help celebrate these community members.
Those interested in sponsoring a specific honoree or supporting the overall 8 Over 80 program can contact the Voice at 270-384-9454 or email sales@adairvoice.com.
The Voice congratulates the inaugural 8 Over 80 honorees and looks forward to sharing their stories and contributions with the community.
