The fiscal court met in a brief meeting Monday to approve the sheriff’s budget.
The topic was included in the regular called November meeting, but County Judge Executive Larry Russell Bryant asked the court to table any vote until the budget committee could meet with Sheriff Gary Roy and review his proposed budget.
The court approved the proposed budget along with maximum pay for employees, which averaged a 4.6 percent increase overall. They also approved an advancement, which is reimbursed after tax revenue is collected.
Along with Judge Executive Bryant, magistrates Tony Denton, Chris Reeder, Billy Coffey and Mark Humphress attended the meeting.
