Cyndi Case, a 7th grade student at Adair County Middle School, placed 10th in language arts at the National Junior Beta Convention for sixth grade.
There were approximately 4800 students nationwide that competed in various subjects at the national level.
Case had placed 5th at the state level which qualified her for nationals.
“I think it’s [language arts] is usually my best subject,” said Case. “I was really excited.”
“When I found out I won nationals, I was shocked because I did not expect it,” she said.
Case, the daughter of Tom and Mary Case, says she aspires to be a lawyer one day.
Angel Woodrome, the ACMS Jr Beta Sponsor, said, “She works really hard.”
“Making it to nationals isn’t just about winning, it’s about proving to yourself that hard work, dedication, and creativity can take you anywhere,” said Woodrome.
