Doyle Wade Stearns, 79, of Greensburg, died Friday, October 2, 2026, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington.
He was born September 9, 1947, in Russell County, to the late Thomas Ray and Ada Wade Dunbar Stearns.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Stearns; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Nellie and George Henry Keltner; and two step-grandchildren, Abigail and Gabrielle Burton.
Doyle was a retired logger and loved singing the gospel of his Lord and Savior to others. Whether he was singing in his home church, Robinson Chapel, or traveling with Living Waters, he loved giving his testimony in song. Besides his family and singing the gospel, he loved coon hunting and fooling around with his little herd of cattle.
He loved being around people and has never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Doyle is survived by his wife, Melissa Keltner Stearns; his three children, Glenn Stearns (Sandy), Carla Denton (Larry Rose) and Micheal Stearns (Sandy); his stepchildren, Karen Darnell (Adam) and Brandy Bryant; his grandchildren, Whitney Redmon (Blake), Jared Denton (Sara) and Lakyn Stearns; his step-grandchildren, Anthony Burton (Wendy), Halle, Joshua and Zachary Burton, Evan Darnell (Samantha), Kinley Giles (Reece) and Carson Darnell; his great-grandchildren, Olivia Kate, Luke Wade Denton, Ramsey Kate, and Miller Redmon; his step-great-grandchildren, Bentley Burton, Everleigh Burton, Beckham Burton and Vince Giles; his sister-in-laws, Cory Stearns and Rhonda Smith (Louis); and many other family and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Wilson and Bro. Raymond Martin officiating. Burial in Robinson Chapel Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Terry Stargel, Blake Redmon, Lucus Stargel. Jared Denton, Adam Darnell, and Troy Denton. Honorary casket bearers were Larry Beard, Jack Heron, Phil Hovious, Rachel Lemons, Yvonne Humphress, Abby Parker, J.W. Houk and Living Waters Bluegrass Gospel Group.
Grissom-Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
