Garlin Gadberry, 86, of Fairplay passed away Saturday, July 19, 2025, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. He was born on April 22, 1939, in Fairplay to the late Beckham and Amanda Harvey Gadberry.
Mr. Gadberry was a member of the Columbia Church of Christ and a retired logger and farmer. He was an avid fisherman and rook player.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Judy Tabor Gadberry of Fairplay; two daughters, Charlene Bell (Ronnie) and Faylene Streeval (Mike Ratliff) both of Columbia; three grandsons, Devin Bell (Kelley), Jesse Streeval, and Cody Streeval; seven great-grandchildren, Pyper, Raylyn, Aliray, Cali, James, Thomas, and Blakelyn; a sister Loretta Gadberry of Fairplay; a brother-in-law Harold Tabor (Liz) of Jamestown; and several nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers Leon, Orville “Dutch”, Forest “Lum”, and Bannard Gadberry and two sisters Marie Grant and Marjorie Campbell.
Funeral services were at 11am Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Haven Hill Cemetery.
Bro. Rickie Williams officiated, and pallbearers were Ronald Gadberry, Danny Bailey, Ricky Prewitt, Pat Elmore, Josh Campbell, and Randall Bell.
