On April 18, 2025, Zane Gist, a senior at Adair County High School signed national letter of intent to play baseball at Lindsey Wilson College. The center fielder has a passion for the sport and began playing in little league at 3 years old.
There was a crowd of coaches, family, and friends that were in attendance to support him. “I never question what percentage I’m going to get out of Zane, it’s always 100%,” stated Coach Ryan McQueary. He understands the extra and spends a lot of time at the field outside of practice and games according to McQueary.
Zane’s mom, Tasha Gist, says that when he started playing travel ball was when they realized how much love he had for the sport. Not only does he have a strong ability on the baseball field, but his coaches praised his character as well.
Zane chose Lindsey Wilson to continue his career so he could stay close to home and his family and he likes the atmosphere that the college has to offer.
