Glen Dale Burton, age 78, passed away on February 17, 2025, at TJ Health Columbia in Columbia. Born on January 14, 1947 in Kentucky, Glen was the beloved son of the late Elic and Lura Grant Burton of Adair County.
Mr. Burton was of the Christian faith and enjoyed fishing, NASCAR racing, watching old westerns and spending time with his family and friends.
Glen is survived by his devoted daughter, Beverly Burton Crowe, and her husband Ricky Crowe. He was a proud grandfather to his grandson, Jordon Burton, and granddaughter, Christa Bardin. Glen also cherished his bonus grandchildren, Hunter and Maddy Crowe, and held a special place in his heart for his great-granddaughter, Khalani Rose Cole all of Columbia.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Nolan Burton, Clyde Burton, James “Booger” Burton, and Junior Burton, as well as his sisters Lyda Cook, Betty Patterson, and Lorene Hadley.
Mr. Burton dedicated many years of his life working at a sawmill before becoming disabled. He will be remembered for his hardworking nature and the love he had for his family.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Bryant Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday after 10 a.m. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
