Graduation travels to Adamsons

Grant Adamson will officially graduate Friday night along with his classmates, but leaders in the school district decided to give his family a special graduation ceremony of their own.
Grant’s father, Bradley Adamson, is currently hospitalized in Louisville. While the family might not be in the Adair County High School gymnasium on Friday, they were all together Tuesday when Grant received a special visit from ACHS Principal Chad Parnell and School District Superintendent Jason Faulkner.
Grant’s mother, Ashley, has kept the community informed about Bradley’s health battle through social media, and on Tuesday she told the community about the special visit.
“While this may not be the graduation we had planned, we cannot thank Mr. Faulkner and Mr. Parnell enough for reaching out and planning a small, private ceremony for Grant and our family. We cannot express how much this meant to all of us. Thank you both for going above and beyond, we appreciate the gesture more than you will ever know,” Ashley wrote. “Additional thanks to the Hosparus staff for helping make this special and those who attended the ceremony as well. It was amazing to see staff lined along the wall and even play a little Pomp & Circumstance. Congrats Grant!! We are so proud of you!”
Parnell said he and Faulkner developed the plan on Friday.
“Mr. Faulkner reached out to me on Friday evening. He asked what we could do so that Grant’s dad could see him graduate. I suggested we go do a private ceremony for him,” Parnell said. “So, after checking with the family, Mr. Faulkner and I traveled to Louisville today to make the presentation at the Norton Pavillon.”
Ashley said they aren’t certain yet whether Grant will attend ceremonies on Friday, but he has a pretty good idea how much he is valued at ACHS.
“We cannot express how much this meant to us. Graduating from high school is such an important milestone and we are so grateful the school administration went above and beyond to do this for our family,” Ashley said.
