Adair County baseball team currently has a winning record at 13-7 for the season.
Indians player Brayton Coomer leads the state in home runs with nine for the season and is second in slugging percentage at 1.300. Teammate Bryce Russell is third in the state for homeruns with seven.
The team is currently on a three-game winning streak. They faced off against Washington County last Thursday. Trailing by four runs in the fourth inning, the Indians rallied back to win 8-7. Homeruns by Russell and Kemp tied the game. Aiden smith hit a single scoring the winning run for the Indians in the bottom of the ninth.
The Indians played another hard-fought game on Friday against Metcalfe County. Coomer had two homeruns, followed by Brody Brock with one. Adair County came out on top with a 6-5 win.
On Monday, the Indians took the field against Hart County to pull out 15-7 win. Hart County lead the game 5-1 in the bottom of the fifth. The Indians rallied back and scored 12 runs in the seventh inning.
They will be back in action as they travel to Marion County on Thursday.
