Jackie Andrew Wethington, 76, of Columbia, a son of the late James Herman (Jig) and Mellie Wethington, was born in Casey County, on April 5, 1949 and departed this life on Monday, May 12, 2025 at his home.

 He professed faith in Christ and was of the Church of God Faith. He was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom, a farmer, and a custodian for the Adair County Schools. He enjoyed tinkering, tending his cattle, his tractor, and a good argument. He was a very selfless man and put the needs of others above his own, and was loved by everyone.

 He united in marriage to Joyce Renee Wethington in 1971 and she preceded him in death in 2000. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, William Otho Wethington, James Edward Wethington, and Becky Lovett, and two siblings in infancy, Barbara Wethington and Joseph Wethington.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Shelia Diane Wethington; four children, Cecelia “CC” Wethington, Rebecca Bricken (Randy Jr.), Earl Rodgers (Regina), and Rebecca Walker (Sean) all of Campbellsville; seven grandchildren, Samantha Rodgers (Alan) and Emily Rodgers of New York, Kyle Rainwater (Nicole), Jeremy Rainwater (Brylee) and Patrick Walker of Campbellsville, Benjamin Walker (Claire) of Horse Cave, and Coty Bricken (Hope) of Burlington; three great-grandchildren, Eleanor Rainwater, Calab Rainwater, and Beau Rainwater; two sisters, Ann Holmes (Junior) of Adair County and Eula Buck of Campbellsville; and special & dedicated friend, Amanda Celis.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 18, 2025 at L.R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel in Campbellsville, with Rev. Evan Tedder officiating and burial in Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery in Liberty.
