James Robert Ford, 79, passed away at his home in Columnia on Monday, December 9, 2024.
He was born December 15, 1944 in Columbia to the late Mitchell and Estelle Corbin Ford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Donnie Ford, Gary Ford, Billy Ford and Wenchie Ford; and four sisters, Betty Ford, Mary Helm, Teresa Burton and Janet Foster.
He was of the Baptist faith and was a painter for many years.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Ford (Donna) and James Ford, both of Columbia; one brother, Rondell Ford of Columbia; four sisters, Eily White, Loraine Smith, Linda Hutchison, and Darlene Lawhorn, all of Columbia; four grandchildren; five great-granchildren; plus a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 13, 2024 at 10 a.m. at the Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Withers officiating with burial to follow in Columbia Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Troy Ford, Jason Ford, Dawson Fisher, Rodney Ford, Cody Foley and Larry Shirley.
Honorary pallbearers were JoJo Miller, Jakobe Miller and Jace Miller.
Grissom-Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
