Jewell Lee Thomas, of Russell Springs, passed from this life to her heavenly reward on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Casey County Hospital, having attained the age of 89 years and 11 months.
Ms. Jewell was born Thursday, May 2, 1935 in Casey County, daughter of the late Willie and Ella Florence Minton.  September 26, 1951 at the age of 16, Jewell married her sweetheart, Tracy Thomas.  Together they celebrated over 70 years of marriage.  She was a member of the Patterson Chapel Church of Christ. 
Always glad to see you, she was a lady who could make you feel loved and appreciated.  Ms. Jewell had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh.  She wanted to make sure that if you came to her home, you were fed.  She was the best mother you could have.  It was well known to her family that her kids and grandkids were her world.
Ms. Jewell is survived by her six children, her sons, Jerry (and Stacey) Thomas, of Columbia, Jackie (and Jeannie) Thomas, of Russell Springs, Andy (and Andrea) Thomas, of Russell Springs, and her daughters, Geniece Lee Thomas, of Nancy, Linda (and Tim) Gregg, of Knoxville, Tenn., and Brenda (and Larry) Phillips, of Russell Springs; her grandchildren, Stacy, Taylor, Derek, Cameron, Aquinna, Jessica, Bethany, Andrew, Nick, Heather, Timmy and Cathy; her 12 great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Imogene Minton, of Windsor.
Along with her parents, Jewell is preceded in death by her husband, Tracy Thomas, who passed away March 22, 2022; and her siblings, brothers Jimmy Minton, Vernon Minton, Stanley Minton, Oral Minton and Clarence Minton, and her sisters, Sadie Clines, Marie Gaines and Freida Luttrell.
Funeral services were Sunday, April 6, 2025 at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Gerald Burton officiating and burial in Wilkerson Cemetery.  Jewell’s grandsons served as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made at the Bank of Jamestown to the Wilkerson Cemetery Fund account.
Bernard Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Jewell Lee Thomas.
