The Adair County Lady Indians’ softball team improved to 5-7 on the season with back-to-back wins over Campbellsville and Marion County.
Adair County shut out Campbellsville 13-0 on Monday in a dominant performance at the plate and in the circle.
Ashley Loy led the offense, driving in four runs on three hits. Keylin Bergin added a double and an RBI, while Jazalynn Young contributed a sacrifice fly to bring in a run.
Bergin earned the win in the circle, allowing no hits and no runs over four innings. Young pitched one inning in relief, also allowing no hits.
The Lady Indians carried that momentum into Tuesday night with an 8-4 win on the road at Marion County.
Reese Bardin led Adair County at the plate, going 3-for-4. Marion County took the lead in the bottom of the third inning, but the Lady Indians responded quickly. Bardin tripled to right field and Ashley Loy grounded out, with each play driving in a run to regain the lead.
Adair County added to its advantage in the top of the fifth when Adysen Wooley singled to score two runs, pushing the lead to 7-4.
Bardin capped the scoring with a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to secure the win.
The Lady Indians will return home tonight to host Caverna, with first pitch set for 5:30 p.m.
