The Adair County Lady Indians won three of their last four games, including a pair of high-scoring road victories, before falling to Taylor County earlier this week.
Adair opened the stretch with a walk-off win over Caverna last Thursday in an extra-inning matchup. With the game tied 1-1 in the bottom of the eighth, Ashley Loy delivered a double to score the winning run. Both teams were strong in the circle, with Adair recording 12 strikeouts and Caverna finishing with 13.
The Lady Indians followed with a 12-5 win over Somerset on Friday. Reese Bardin led the offense with five RBIs on three hits. Braylee Corbin and Ella Brown combined for four of the team’s seven hits, scoring six runs and driving in seven. Adair got on the board in the second inning when Corbin grounded out to bring in a run and Brown added another on a sacrifice bunt.
Adair carried that momentum into Monday with a 13-3 win at Campbellsville. Callee White doubled to drive in two runs, and Cady Kimbler added an RBI single in the first inning. In the second, Jazalynn Young grounded out to score two runs, and White drew a bases-loaded walk to bring in another. The Lady Indians continued to add on in the third after a single by Bardin.
The three-game winning streak ended Tuesday with a 6-3 loss to Taylor County. Adair collected 11 hits in the game, with Adysen Wooley leading the way with two RBIs while going 2 for 3. Campbell, Kimbler, Wooley and White each recorded two hits.
Adair County stands at 8-8 on the season and is scheduled to host Cumberland County at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
