Originally slated for November 1, 2024, magician Lance Burton will now be performing at the Adair County High School gymnasium on Sunday, Jan. 26.
Burton, who spent years performing daily shows in Las Vegas, is bringing his famed magic back to his hometown for the first time in decades. Inspiring him to unleash his bag of tricks for Adair County are the middle school cheerleaders who will be using proceeds from the show for new equipment and travel fees for competitions.
“Lance hasn’t done a full show here… in over 40 years. So anyone that didn’t get the chance to see him perform live in Las Vegas won’t want to miss this opportunity. And if you were able to travel and see him at the Monte Carlo, or at the Hacienda Hotel, you know how amazing the show was and should come see this version. He’s the best of the best,” said Sheavon Taylor, niece of Burton and supporter of the cheer squad. Taylor was the one who helped get Burton involved—her stepdaughter, Sophie, is a member of ACMS cheer.
Burton himself looks forward to the show.
“We’ll have something for everybody. I’ve got some of my best friends with me. It’s a lot of fun. We do a lot of audience participation, magic, big illusions, slight of hand magic, there are guest stars, so yes. I always try and put together a well-rounded show so you can see a little bit of everything,” Burton said.
Doors at the gym will open at 4 p.m. and the show will start at 5 p.m. Floor seats and a meet and greet with Burton are $20, seats on the lower level will be $15, and upper level seats will be $10. Small children who do not need their own seat can watch for free. Tickets can be purchased at: ticketstripe.com/ACMSCHEER-LanceBurton.
