Melissa Burton, 44, of the Portland community, died Friday, November 8, 2024 at TJ Health/Columbia Emergency Room
She was born January 21, 1980, in Adair County. She was preceded in death by her father, Ricky James Howard, one brother, Ricky Howard and one sister, Ann Burton.
Survivors include:
Her husband – Darrel Burton of Portland
Her mother – Rebecca Lee Logsdon Harmon of Russell Springs
Five children – Nathaniel Burton, Maze Burton, Jessica Burton, Latashia Burton, Kasandra Burton all of Columbia
One sister – Rebecca Lynn Marie Howard of Columbia
Three grandchildren – Anatashia Burton, Daniel Popplewell, Alexander Kerns
Visitation on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Cremation to follow
In lieu of flowers, donations to Green River Animal Shelter would be appreciated as Melissa “Loved her Cats.” These can be left at the funeral home
