Multiple drug arrests made in Columbia

The Columbia Police Department conducted a drug enforcement operation Friday, Sept. 18, as part of ongoing investigations into illegal drug activity in the City of Columbia and throughout the Adair County area.
The investigations were conducted by Columbia Police Department HIDTA Detective Ethan Pike and Columbia Police Officer Travis Bell.
The Columbia Police Department, along with members of the Kentucky State Police DESI West and the ATF, served indictment warrants on individuals identified through the investigations.
The following individuals were taken into custody Friday:
• Daniel C. Burton, 41, of Columbia, was charged with trafficking-controlled substance, first degree, first offense (methamphetamine) and persistent felony offender.
• Angela N. Elliot, 41, of Columbia, was charged with trafficking-controlled substance, second degree.
• Rhonda K. Jones, 61, of Columbia, was charged with trafficking-controlled substance, first degree, second offense or greater (methamphetamine).
• Angela J. Dyer, 53, of Columbia, was charged with trafficking-controlled substance, third degree, first offense.
• Felipe A. Abston, 22, of Columbia, was charged with trafficking-controlled substance, first degree, first offense (cocaine).
• Jeffery L. Bailey, 49, of Columbia, was charged with possession of controlled substance, first degree, first offense (methamphetamine); possession of controlled substance, second degree (drug unspecified); and prescription-controlled substance not in proper container, first offense. Bailey turned himself in to the Columbia Police Department.
An additional arrest was made Saturday evening, Sept. 19, in connection with the drug enforcement operation.
Jeffery D. Sullivan, 60, of Columbia, was taken into custody by members of the Columbia Police Department without incident and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree, second offense (methamphetamine).
The Columbia Police Department said additional arrests are expected in the Adair County area and surrounding counties as the investigations continue.
