Pamela “Pam” Smith

Pamela “Pam” Smith, 70, of Santa Rosa, CA passed into glory on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Medical Center in Santa Rosa, CA.  She was born in Taylor County, KY on June 1, 1954, to the late Jeffers Dale Richardson and Christine Edwards Richardson Moody.

 

In 1969 Pam confessed Christ as Savior at the age of 15 and soon after met the love of her life. She began dating her future husband Val Mark Smith when they were both 16. She graduated from Bryan Station High School in Lexington, KY in 1972.  She married Mark in Lexington, KY on April 22, 1974.  She and Mark recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.  Mark and Pam have three children (Clarissa, Lauren, and Nathan) and Pam quit her job as an insurance transcriber to devotedly care for them and her husband at home until the children were grown. Pam lived in Lexington, KY until 1998 when she and the rest of her family moved to Napa, CA.  Pam enjoyed visiting with her family, spoiling her grandchildren, traveling with her husband, and fellowshipping with other believers at Berean Baptist Church in Rohnert Park, CA where she worked in children’s ministry and as the church secretary, retiring after 20 years of faithful service. She lovingly supported her husband as a Pastor’s wife for 22 years. Pam was known for her generosity, friendliness, being quippy, and always giving those who knew her a good laugh.

 

Survivors include her husband Val Mark Smith of Santa Rosa, CA; two daughters Clarissa Riley (Jason) of Salvisa, KY and Lauren Smith of Santa Rosa, CA; one son Nathan Smith of Laurel, MD; 10 grandchildren Elisa, Elijah, Aiden, Jillian, Jolie, Ian, Alaina, Josiah, Micah, and Landen; three sisters Pat McKee, Paula Brooks (Edward) both of Lexington, KY, and Debbie Jufer (Tim) of Nicholasville, KY; two brothers Randell Richardson and James Moody (Teresha) both of Lexington, KY; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be 11:30am Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Columbia Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday after 10:00am at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

 

Tim Jufer will officiate the services, and pallbearers will be Nathan Smith, Jason Riley, Elijah Riley, Aiden Smith, Phillip McKee, and James Moody.
