The Adair County Sheriff’s Department investigated a two-vehicle accident that occurred on Tuesday around 1:20 p.m. on Russell Rd. five miles east of Columbia.
Destiny Murphy, 26, of Columbia, was traveling with her daughter and reported to law enforcement that a cloud of smoke coming from another vehicle caused her to not be able to see a vehicle operated by Virginia Holtzclaw, 42, of Columbia.
Murphy’s vehicle struck Holtzlaw’s vehicle in the rear.
Murphy and her passenger were transported to TJ Health Columbia for possible injuries. Holtzclaw and her passenger, Gary Sneed, did not require follow-up medical care.
Deputy Gary Roy is investigating.
