Sheriff’s office launches anonymous tip line

The Adair County Sheriff’s Office has launched an anonymous tip line, giving residents another way to share information with law enforcement.
Citizens may call 270-385-1155 to confidentially report suspected drug activity, provide information on individuals with outstanding warrants or share other concerns with the sheriff’s office.
“It is just another resource that we are going to put out there that we had the opportunity to do,” said Sheriff Gary Roy.
Roy said the office recently purchased iPads to electronically submit vehicle inspection forms to the clerk’s office. A phone line was included with the service, which he chose to use as a tip line.
He noted that the sheriff’s office and Columbia Police Department will work together to address calls received through either agency’s tip line.
The city continues to monitor its tipline, called Calley’s Line, at 270-378-2259.
