Taylor County crash claims the life of Adair County man

Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal collision on Hwy. 70 in Taylor County last Thursday, Nov. 21, that claimed the life of an Adair County man.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Larry Wicker, 62, of Elkhorn, was traveling west on Ky. 70 in a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier when a deer entered the roadway into his path. Wicker was unable to avoid the collision with the deer and upon colliding with Wicker’s vehicle, the deer was thrown airborne and collided with a 2002 Freightliner operated by Rocky Morrison, 75, of Columbia.
Morrison was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Taylor County Coroner. Wicker was not injured during the collision.
KSP was assisted on scene by the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, Taylor County Fire Deparment, Campbellsville/Taylor County EMS, Taylor County Coroner’s Office and Kentucky State Highway Department.

Trooper Trevor Sagrecy and Senior Trooper Weston Sullivan investigated the collision.
