A Russell County teenager, Natalie Wilson, died following a traffic collision Friday in Adair County.
Wilson, 17, of Jamestown, was the daughter of Heather (McGowan) Wilson and Jeremy “Hog” Wilson. She worked as a pharmacy technician at Jamestown Healthcare.
Wilson died following a two-vehicle collision Friday morning approximately 13 miles outside of Columbia on Liberty Road. Adair County 911 received a call of an injury collision. The initial calls said that there were possibly three people entrapped.
When emergency responders arrived on scene, it was determined there were only two people involved, Wilson and the driver of the cement truck, Curtis Bell, 22, of Columbia. Bell was not injured.
Kentucky State Police were requested around 10:30 a.m. to investigate. The initial investigation revealed that Wilson’s 2019 Chevrolet Equinox crossed the centerline and collided with 2007 Terex C13 concrete truck in the eastbound lane.
Wilson was transported to T.J. Health Columbia, where she was pronounced deceased by the Adair County Coroner’s office. Air Evac responded to the scene and assisted Adair EMS enroute to T.J. Health Columbia. The Adair County Sheriff’s Office, Adair County Fire Department, Adair County Coroner’s Office, Adair County Emergency Management, and the Kentucky State Highway Department all aided at the scene. Senior Trooper Dean Lunz is investigating the collision.
