Robert Flowers returns to the Columbia City Council after a brief hiatus and the five incumbents who ran for one of the six seats will remain, with Ben Burris falling short in a race of seven people for six seats.
Local unofficial election results are in, but the nation awaits for news on the national level.
The victory was clear in Adair County, with President Donald Trump, the Republican, grabbing almost 83 percent of the vote, and Democrat Joseph Biden netting just under 16 percent of the vote.
John “Bam” Carney, who is working his way back from a serious illness that started just before Christmas last year, got the nod from voters in Adair and Taylor counties to continue in the House of Representatives.
In Adair, Carney received 7,223 votes, (84.08%) with Democrat Richard Steele – receiving 1368 votes (15.92%).
In Taylor County, the Republican incumbent received 9,233 votes (74.8%) with Steele garnering 3,118 votes (25.2%).
