On Monday, July 15, the Adair County Sheriff’s office responded to the junction of Gaston Avenue and Jamestown Street for a call of a two vehicle injury accident.
A preliminary investigation determined that a 2006 Toyota Prius operated by Brenda K. Johnson of Illinois pulled out onto Jamestown Street from Gastone Avenue and directly into the path of a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe operated by Macy Chamness of Columbia.
Johnson had two juvenile passengers and herself transported to T.J. Health Columbia.
Chamness also had two juvenile passengers, one of which was transported to T.J. Health Columbia by Adair County EMS.
Adair County EMS, Adair County Fire Department, Kentucky State Police and Columbia City Police assisted the sheriff’s office on scene.
Deputy Derek Padgett is the investigating officer.
