John “Bam” Carney filed for reelection Tuesday as State Representative serving Adair and Taylor counties in the 51st district.
Carney, a Republican, has served in the office since 2009.
“It’s truly been an honor to serve the good people of Adair and Taylor counties these past eight years,” Carney said in an interview Tuesday. “I’m humbled by the support I have received from the community. Both Adair and Taylor counties are special places with special people and I hope to have the opportunity to continue to serve you as your voice in Frankfort.”
Carney is a teacher in the Taylor County school district. He currently serves on the appropriations and revenue, education and state government committees in the House.
