On Friday, Jan. 31, Columbia Police officers were dispatched along with Adair County EMS to a potential injury accident on Walker Street just after 10 p.m.

Upon arrival, units observed that a Pontiac G6 had flipped upside down after making impact with a parked Ford pickup truck.

The driver of the G6, Bobby Spencer, 43, of Columbia was located outside a residence and it was observed he was intoxicated. After waving EMS services, Spencer was placed into custody and was charged with driving under the influence, operating on a suspended license, failure to produce insurance card and criminal mischief 1st degree, which is a class D felony pending providing proof of insurance.

Spencer was taken from the scene to T.J. Health Columbia, where he consented to having his blood drawn and was then transported and lodged in Adair County Regional Jail.

Officer Adam Cravens was the arresting officer and was assisted on scene by Officer John Dial, as well as Adair County Sheriff Deputies Justin Cross and Derek Padgett.
