On Thursday, Sept. 5, the Columbia Police were asked to come to the Adair County Regional Jail after contraband was discovered on a recently booked inmate.
Burkesville Police brought in the inmate on active warrants and when searched by jail staff, was found to have two clear baggies with a powder substance concealed on his person. Contents of the baggies field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
John Carter, 28, of Burkesville was charged with promoting contraband and possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine. Officer Adam Cravens was the investigating Officer.
