Indians 4
Metcalfe Co. 2
With a tough week of opponents and dropping three in a row, Adair County found their way back into the win column against Metcalfe County on the road despite leaving several runners in scoring position.
“We left a lot of runners in scoring position,” Coach Mike Mantooth said. “It’s a good learning opportunity for us.”
The Indians were led at the plate by sophomore Blake Biggs and senior Mike Ratliff. Biggs finished the game with two RBIs and Ratliff added an RBI as well during the contest.
On the mound, senior Trevor Willis pitched six innings, allowing four hits, two walks, and he had five strikeouts. Freshman Landon Carter finished the game with one inning thrown as he allowed one hit and recorded a strikeout.
“I was proud of this team today on how they responded to adversity,” Coach Mantooth said.
