The Adair County High School boys’ varsity and junior varsity golf teams each prevailed in their respective season-opener. Both ACHS squads opened up regular-season play at home at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson against Marion County High School on Monday, Aug. 6 and prevailed thanks to impressive outings.
Riley Grant, Austin Cundiff and Daniel Rarey led the ACHS varsity team. Riley, Cundiff and Rarey each fired a 38. Blake Maupin shot a 42 and Corey Hundley finished with a 43, leading to a team total of 155. The Marion County varsity unit shot a 177.
The Adair County junior varsity team was led by Tanner Garmon and Jamison Miller, each of whom fired a 44. Joseph Farmer was next with a 46, followed by Jacob Keltner, who turned in a 51. Other JV scores were Zach Pyles with a 52, Tanner Janes with a 55 and Bryce Farris with a 57.
“I was really pleased with the way the team played for the first match of the season,” Adair County High School Coach Chris Lewis commented.
