Columbia, Ky. (May 1, 2013) The Kentucky State Police responded to the 68 mile marker east bound on Louie B Nunn Cumberland Parkway Tuesday that involved an overturned tractor trailer.

Preliminary investigation shows that around 2:00 pm on Tuesday afternoon the driver, Scottie Castle, of Somerset was traveling east on Cumberland Parkway when he lost control of his vehicle causing it to go off the road down into ditch. As the truck began to come back up on roadway the load shifted causing the truck and trailer to overturn.

Mr. Castle was entrapped and had to extracted from the vehicle by the Russell Springs Fire Department. Stat Flight was on scene, however Mr. Castle refused treatment from Stat Flight and was transported to Russell County Hospital by EMS. He was later treated and released with minor injuries.

The roadway was shut down for about 5 hours while the truck, trailer, and load were removed from the scene.

Mr. Castle was transporting steel beams for RTC out of Columbia, Ky.
