SOMERSET, Ky. (July 18, 2017) – Beginning Monday July 24, the Louie B. Nunn/Cumberland Parkway in Adair and Russell County will be reduced to one lane between mile point 48.1 (Petty’s Fork) and ending at Exit 62 (Russell Springs) as crews begin pavement resurfacing.

Work will begin with operations being performed in the eastbound lanes. Once crews have completed the eastbound lanes they will begin work on the westbound lanes. Motorists are reminded to pay close attention to highway signs and be prepared for traffic shifts through the duration of work.
Speed limits will be reduced from 70 to 55 mph through the work zone and double fines will be in effect. In addition, lane widths will be reduced to 11 feet. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to allow extra time in reaching their destinations.
Work is scheduled to be completed by September 30. The start date and duration of work may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseeable delays.
