The Lindsey Wilson men’s and women’s tennis 2015 schedules were released on Friday by head coach Daniel Finn.
The women’s team is the first to compete and open the season on Jan. 31 with a trip to NCAA Division I member Murray State (Ky.). Both teams then compete on Feb. 3 against another NCAA Division I member in Morehead State (Ky.), which will be the season opener for the men’s team.
A pair of road trips to Brescia (Ky.) and Union (Ky.) on Feb. 7 and 11, respectively, is on the slate before a matchup with Eastern Kentucky in Richmond, Kentucky. The women face the Colonels on Feb. 13, with the men competing the very next day.
The Blue Raider men then head to Red Oak, Iowa, for matches against Graceland (Iowa) and NCAA Division II member Northwest Missouri State on Feb. 19 and 20.
Lindsey Wilson faces yet another NCAA Division I opponent when it welcomes Austin Peay State (Tenn.) to Columbia for the home opener on Feb. 28.
The Blue Raiders play two more home matches against Cumberlands (Ky.) (March 1) and Asbury (Ky.) (March 4), before hitting the road again beginning with the women’s team taking on NCAA Division I member Southern Illinois-Carbondale on March 7.
The teams rejoin each other for the next five matches against Reinhardt (Ga.), Delta State University (Miss.), Martin Methodist (Tenn.), Pikeville (Ky.) and Cumberland (Tenn.), all on the road with the March 23 meeting in Pikeville being the Mid-South Conference opener.
Lindsey Wilson then faces Shawnee State (Ohio), Georgetown (Ky.), Campbellsville (Ky.), and St. Catharine (Ky.) in their next four MSC matches.
The women’s team heads to their final NCAA Division I opponent in Western Kentucky on April 5 before both teams host Marian (Ind.) and Bethel (Tenn.) on April 7 and 8, respectively.
The MSC finale for both teams takes place on April 11 at Cumberlands before a regular-season finale matchup with Lincoln Memorial (Tenn.).
Both Lindsey Wilson squads will look to defend their MSC Tournament title at Kereiakes Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky, on April 23-25. The women’s team has won 10-straight titles while the men have won 11.
The NAIA National Championships are set for May 12-16 at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Alabama.
