Denis Porcic is the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week, the conference office released on Tuesday.
The weekly conference honor is Porcic’s first of the season.
He becomes the fourth Blue Raider to earn the weekly award this year joining Edberg Espinoza, Francisco Charters and Raul Mendez.
Porcic won all eight of his matches during the week, helping Lindsey Wilson to a 4-0 team record.
The Tuzla, Bosnia & Herzegovina, native, paired with doubles partner Mendez to win four times while dropping just three games at the No. 2 doubles position.
Porcic duplicated his doubles mark with a 4-0 singles record during the week at the No. 2 singles position.
Porcic opened the week with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Georgetown’s (Ky.) Tristan Nosek. Next he defeated No. 19-ranked Campbellsville’s (Ky.) Vladyslav Ladygin 6-4, 6-3. Porcic added straight-set wins against Asbury’s (Ky.) Scott Layton and St. Catharine’s (Ky.) Gonzalo Andres to complete the unbeaten week.
Porcic has won nine-straight singles matches and 12-consecutive doubles matches on the year. He improves to 13-3 in singles play and 14-2 in doubles play on the year.
No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson is 14-2 on the season and leads the MSC standings with a 5-0 conference mark.
